I work at home in my cellar workshop. I am not a mobile sharpener. Mostly people arrange a time and then bring me items. I sharpen the items and text to let them know. They come and collect the items and pay. I will consider anything I can get down the cellar stairs of this Georgian house.
Typically items are Knives, Scissors, Shears, Loppers, Clippers, Chisels, Gouges, Plane irons.
I will collect if necessary but will charge for that at a reasonable, pre-agreed rate.
If only it were that easy! There is too great a variety and my volumes are too low to let it all average out in the end, so I price things individually. There's some standard prices for the most regular items:
Clipper blades are £6.50, Knives are 50 pence an inch (about £4 each), secateurs are £5
For a more detailed guess at what things will cost, please see the list <-
In effect - call me on 07887 564 589 is the simplest option :)
It is almost always a same day service. Unless a job is very large or complicated or I have to wait for parts, things are normally a couple of hours.
I'll do my best to estimate for you.
Of course you can. I have dogs, I sharpen in the cellar and I only have about twenty minutes of civil conversation in me. If you can work with that, you can wait (within reason)
I'll put some pictures below to show the sort of things that I sharpen :)
I'm a bit short of pictures of scissors because I'm usually only photographing unusual stuff or "before and after" and scissors are usually the same pre and post sharpening except in the details and they don't make for good images. I'll try to correct that.
